Cactus Rug

The Puna collection celebrates Peru's rich cultural traditions. Made by hand from natural materials and painted with care, this unique piece celebrates the past, appeals to the present and looks toward a bright future.

Based in the Andean city of Cusco, the artist and designer Yerko Zlatar teamed up with interior designer Mariana Otero to promote traditional crafts and ancestral techniques of Peru. They collaborate with highly skilled artisans, focusing on design pieces that are contemporary in taste, but rich with cultural heritage. Moreover, Puna strives to maintain its environmental and ethical record. They practice responsible sourcing, use sustainable production methods, and only create high-quality pieces that are made to last.

Some shedding may occur when vacuuming the rug, especially in the beginning. Vacuum your rug regularly. Do not use a vacuum that has rotating/spinning parts (e.g. Dyson) as this may cause pilling within the rug and pull loose fibres. As the fibres have been hand-dyed, slight colour differences may occur.

To protect the colours, avoid exposing your rug to direct sunlight and change its position regularly to equalise fading and wear.

We recommend using an anti-slip underlay to reduce dust collection.

Only use a professional rug cleaning service for the entire rug.

The dimensions can vary minimally as each rug is made by hand.
