Andino means “from the Andes”. It's where our story began, and remains an important part of our perspective as the collection grows across Latin America.
Andino is an independent Australian design store with a longstanding connection to South America. Since 2019, our collection has through an interest in the objects, materials and design traditions we encounter across the continent — and a desire to share a more contemporary expression of Latin American design.
We travel, meet makers and select pieces for their design, high-quality local materials, craftsmanship and connection to place. We keep the edit considered: fewer makers, hand-selected pieces and objects that deserve to be lived with.

The materials often tell us as much as the finished pieces. Across South America, geography has shaped what is made and how — from the red clay of Mendoza and alpaca fibre of Peru to the weaving, ceramic and textile traditions that have developed around them.
Our sourcing trips are a chance to understand that context firsthand: visiting studios and workshops, looking at materials, techniques and production, and exploring what might belong in the Andino collection.
Sometimes we travel with something specific in mind; other times a material, maker or process leads us somewhere unexpected. That ongoing exploration is how the collection evolves.
